As a medical doctor who practices both traditional and holistic medicine, I am charged with the responsibility of prescribing pharmaceuticals as well as recommending nutraceuticals, such as vitamins, herbs, and probiotics. There are many supplement companies on the market with a wide range of quality control and prices.  I found myself spending an inordinate amount of time researching products for individuals and worrying about product quality, contamination, and efficacy.

I have finally aligned with a company that I feel confident recommending,  ProThera and Klaire Lab.  They keep tight control of their ingredients and production to ensure safe and effective products.  They adhere to current Good Manufacturing Practices, they are licensed by the State of California as a drug manufacturer and food processor, and they are registered with the Food and Drug Administration as a drug manufacturing establishment.   Their manufacturing procedures meet or exceed the United States Pharmacopeia (USP) standards.  As a prescriber, these qualifications are necessary in order for me to recommend a supplement with confidence and peace of mind.

All products are free of artificial flavors, preservatives, and colors. Common allergens such as wheat, corn, soy, yeast and dairy are avoided unless otherwise specified on their product label.  I was also impressed that the United Kingdom and European Community approve their product line. Only in the United States do we allow our food, drugs, and supplements to be made with toxins in the name of a more attractive color or longer shelf life! Many products sold in the United States are not allowed in the UK or EC for this reason, but ProThera and Klaire Labs meet their standards.

Regardless of what food or supplement you are putting in your body, always read the label, and ask yourself, are these ingredients healing or hurting me?  Be well!
